From the darkroom to Lightroom…I’ve been taking photos for a few decades.

Born in Seoul, South Korea, based in the Twin Cities.
I take great delight in capturing life’s most precious moments.
A college ministry pastor by day and photographer by night, my love for people and passion for photography have brought Bright Hope Photography to life!
As a husband and dad, I love helping our family savor the core memories we make together through photography and I look forward to doing the same for your family.
Origin Story
I started shooting on our family’s 35mm Minolta (film camera) in the 90s. As a teenager, I learned how to develop film in the darkroom. For the past 15 years, I have worked within the digital photography space.
My dad was my hero. He always believed in us kids and encouraged us to go after our dreams.
There is a lyric from our family’s favorite hymn, Great is Thy Faithfulness, that resonates deeply.
“Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow…”
After nearly 15 years of battling cancer and several health challenges, my dad closed his eyes on earth and opened them in his Heavenly home.
Great is Thy Faithfulness was the closing hymn at dad’s funeral service.
Shortly after he passed I thought of how he always encouraged me to go after my dreams and our family invested in a professional-grade camera.
My goal with Bright Hope Photography is to utilize photography as a means to bless others and help capture life’s most precious moments.
My prayer is for each of my clients to have strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow…
